York Ann Tildy has just graduated from high school and she is going to spend the summer with her sweet Nana Bea before starting college. Making the decision to travel across the country to the little town of Hansonville, Virginia turns out to be life changing for York. She wants to spend this time bonding with her Nana, learning her domestic ways, but when J.W. Porter enters her life wearing cowboy boots and driving a riding lawn mower, her summer turns into the makings of an endearing love story. When J.W. loses someone close to him he changes. Instead of relying on York for comfort he pushes her away while he faces his demons the only way he knows how, on the back of a bull. York returns back to her west coast life heartbroken. After a decade passes an unexpected event takes York back to Virginia. Already committed to another, York finds herself second guessing everything in her life when J.W. Porter strolls back in. She realizes the fire he started inside of her as a teenager still rages, but can she survive him again?
