After years of caring for her father, Grace Hamilton is weary. Most of her friends are married, and any potential suitors have found other women to wed. Then her sister-in-law gives her a copy of The Matrimonial Times. With her father still living, though, she is reluctant to even look at the newspaper. She does, however, and writes to three men. Of the three, newspaper owner Levi Jenkins, wants to correspond with her, and she begins a letter-based relationship with the man, who has a child named Jesse.

When her father dies, Levi invites Grace to El Paso, Texas, where he lives. Glad for the opportunity to get away for a while, Grace accepts his invitation. On the train, as she leaves Chicago, Grace is startled to find that a childhood friend, Collin Winters, is going to Texas, as well. When he offers to be her escort, she accepts. Traveling with a man she trusts is preferable to traveling alone.

Meeting Levi for the first time, Grace is pleasantly surprised that he is so handsome, and Collin heads to San Antonio and his family. Many weeks later, he returns with the excuse that he wants to bring Grace to San Antonio for Christmas. Grace declines the invitation, but Collin stays in town, trying to change her mind. Angry that he doesn’t leave, Levi stands with Grace.

While they’re at a Christmas dance, Levi asks Grace to marry him, despite not having gone through the one-year mourning period. Soon after the proposal, they learn that someone has broken into the newspaper office.

Will Grace accept his proposal or will she reject him and seek out romance elsewhere? Who has broken into the newspaper office and for what purpose? Will Christmas be filled with peace, love, and joy like it should be? Find out by reading 'The Christmas Dance' right now…
