Valerie DiVecchio will do just about anything for a story, up to and including hauling her butt to Northern Maine in late October in search of some washed up hockey player no one has heard from in nearly twenty years. Val’s editor believes this story is one of the ones that will save them from a takeover by a soulless media conglomerate. Val has her doubts, but she’s never been one to let a story slip her by. She just hopes she won’t be eaten by a bear before she can score her interview.

John Henderson doesn’t talk to the press. After everything that happened before he walked away from his pro hockey career, the last thing he needs is some reporter poking around trying to splash his personal business all over the internet. Besides, he has enough problems. He doesn’t need to rehash his past for the entertainment of bored white collar workers, not when he’s this close to bankruptcy and financial ruin.

With their financial futures on the line, Val and John will have to work together to save their respective businesses and their livelihoods. But when attractions flare, can they stick to their professional agreement or will they give in to temptation?
