A Power Ball jackpot. A trip to Rome. One beautiful woman after another. Thirty-six-year-old Robert Lee Hunley should be living the dream. But, instead, Robert Hunley is bored. After a while, one meal tastes like another, one vacation spot has the same things as the last, another woman is the same as the last.

When Navy veteran, Robert Hunley, hit the biggest Power Ball jackpot in lottery history at the time, his life changed dramatically. After the government took its share, Robert had north of four hundred million dollars to his name. But as Robert soon learns, money does not solve all of life’s problems. In fact, it can create a lot of new ones. When you deposit four hundred million dollars in a small-town bank, word quickly gets around. Suddenly Robert has an overwhelming number of friends who feel entitled to a share of his money if only because he has it and they do not.

While on a vacation trip to Rome, Robert encounters the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on … a mysterious Gypsy woman named Pia. After Robert’s initial crash and burn with her on their first encounter, he and Pia have the most amazing night of their life. But is Pia really whom she seems to be? Waking the next morning, Robert discovers Pia is gone, leaving only the alluring smell of her perfume lingering in the air.

For Robert, Pia could not be just one more in a string of casual encounters. He immediately starts searching for his mystery woman, He certainly has the money to spend on the search, but Pia has simply disappeared. Giving up on searching on his own, Robert reluctantly hires professional searchers and returns to Tennessee, and his life takes a different path. After all, the odds of running into Pia again are pretty slim if she wants to stay hidden … aren’t they?

But wait ... after a pregnant Pia is sighted by one of the searchers in a small southern Italian town, Robert feels that desperate times call for desperate actions. One of his ex-wives, Carmela, lives in the same town. Surely she wouldn't mind helping him. Would she?
For a grown man with a couple of marriages behind him, Robert is somewhat naive about the workings of the female mind. Especially when the ex turns up just as pregnant as Pia !

Robert is now a man with a dilemma.
He loves Pia, after all, she is pregnant.
No, wait, he loves Carmela, after all, she is pregnant ... No, he loves …

Robert is convinced that his PTSD, which he picked up on active duty during a little excursion to Afghanistan, is getting worse. Too many women could prove more dangerous than Taliban bullets.

To this cauldron of newly discovered love, lost love, and once upon a time love, throw a few more subplots into the mix, just to make things more interesting. For example:

A wife on the run from a murderous lout of a husband who wants nothing more than the opportunity to gift her with a horrible death when he catches up with her.

Right on the lout's trail is a beautiful brunette suffering from “Heterochromia Iridum,” who has one green eye and one brown eye focused on the lout. She is positive she can tame his murderous tendencies. She might be right. He is convinced she is a witch.

Laughs, Tears, Love, Hatred, Wealth, Revenge, Beautiful Women, … It's all there, and more, in this latest entry into “The LaFollette Chronicles,” series by D GUY.
