Heaven soon finds out that Gabriella and James aren't exactly who they claim to be. She also learns that Daniel has fled the country with his mistress. It hurts her to her core, but with her love for Roman rekindling, she doesn't know what to feel. When she's told that James is a murderer and could possibly be on his way back to town for her, she finally decides to tell someone what's been going on behind closed doors in her home. With what she already has going on, plus the multiple women that are making it their mission to steal Roman from her, Heaven’s plate is more than full. She has to try to keep her sanity while making sure Roman doesn't lose his.

Roman's war with his rival, Gunna, is getting out of hand and really close to home. With bodies piling up more and more each day, he must think of a way to keep everyone close to him safe. Before he knows it, he's grown deep feelings for Heaven but doesn't want to act on them while his life is on the line. It takes his sudden obsession with his own death to make him finally accept what he's feeling.
