Zombie Diaries: Winter Formal, Junior Year by R.W.K. Clark
After accidentally eating her boyfriend before the big homecoming dance, Mavis Harvey is trying everything to stay away from boys.

After dealing with the emotional roller coaster of eating her first boyfriend, Mavis Harvey is determined to stay away from boys until she figures out how to deal with her strange taste in raw meat. What the heck is going on with her, anyway? Not only does she eat bloody food by the handfuls, but now she has gone from dressing like the girl-next-door to looking like the lead singer in an all-girl goth band! Boys and girls alike are drawn to her, but she holds her ground, concerned about what she might do if she dates again. Mavis is busy trying to figure out why all the raw meat in the world tastes so darn gourmet! It’s not that she doesn’t want a new boyfriend, or doesn’t want to go to the Winter Formal, it’s just that they all smell so… delicious! It’s best to stay away. But regardless of her efforts, Mavis continues to change; she is getting paler, and her taste in clothing has begun to look crazily Goth, which just draws the boys like flies. She’s also trying to figure out how to best tweak her new Goth look, and how to shake all the boys who are suddenly asking for dates. But most of all, Mavis is trying to figure out how to keep from eating anyone else! She develops clever ways to ensure that she doesn’t make the same mistake twice. But the cravings are still there, and so are the other symptoms that keep her from believing that she has ‘anemia’. The best bet is to stay away from boys, but Colin Handley has another idea: He wants to take Mavis to the Winter Formal. What’s a girl to do?
