Finding Home by T.J. Star
Stumbling his way across ranch lands after he was left for dead by his family, Connor crosses the last hurdle to find a means to life, right before falling flat on his face as he passes out in front of their house. He wakes to a family unlike the own hell and agony he grew up in, the Walkers are different but in a good way and accept him for who he is. It will just take some time getting used to the way this ranch and family works, though his heart longs to be a part of it for as long as they will let him. That is if his family that left him for dead doesn’t come searching for him.
Forrest’s love of horses has always set him apart from his family and while they don’t treat him different, shy and quiet he often feels out of place. Walker Ranch is a cattle ranch and he does his part like everyone else. He understood that putting things off, but now that they are doing so well and have for over two years he is anxious to start on his part of the business. If they could just get some decent hired hands to stay long enough he could work with the horses not the cattle.
They seem upset that he doesn’t go out with the guys to town every weekend to get drunk and waste money. He puts his money on his horses and something he was sure his siblings suspected if didn’t know for sure; he wasn’t into chasing skirts. He noticed things about their new friend though, but he was hurt and had a weary look in his eyes. Forrest didn’t want to scare the man off even if it did seem like he might be into him. He could dream and wait and see what happen once he was healed.
