Longing to Belong by Perry Comer
What good are dreams if there is no one to share them with? Jim Melton accomplished his dream. He is alone without family, without anyone that cares. He's a city boy gone to the country and is as uncomfortable as a rabbit in a tree. The last thing he needs or expects is to fall in love with a feisty redhead. The folks in rural South Carolina are friendly, nosy and clannish. Jim is soon assailed with accusations, is threatened and laughed at. Sharon, the lovely redhead, doesn't mind putting people in their place when they insult her or Jim. Sharon's father, Bull, is well named and sees Jim as just another man trying to steal his daughter from him. All the while, Jim is just trying to fit in to the community and to belong somewhere. Love never runs smooth and neither does life. Longing to Belong is filled with humor, life lessons and the trials and tribulations of rural living.
