The stories begin with Mon a seventeen year old girl who has just seen her mother's dead body on the floor with a heroin needle hanging from the crook of her arm. Left motherless and her father being blamed for her death she is sent to live with her sister Tilly and her boyfriend Dylan. Tilly has always hated Mon and goes out of her way to make life miserable for her.

Tilly's treatment pushes Mon into the arms of Dylan, but when Mon finds herself pregnant with his baby, he is suddenly murdered. Mon goes in search of the reason behind his murder and the truths that she discovers with the help of Knox become too hard for her to take.

Knox and Augustine's son, Mason grows to be just like his dad, popular at school and a great footballer. When Chelsea comes running into his arms and tells him that she has just shot her father, he is pulled into a world of drama. Knox does what he can to protect Chelsea.

It's in the prelude that we find Knox getting his revenge. But it comes at a price. Is it a price he is prepared to pay?

These stories have trigger warnings throughout of suicide and self harm. These aren't stories that are all fluffy clouds and prettiness. They are gritty and sometimes hard to read. However, they are never boring.
