Eye Shine: Something is in the woods by Trisha Harley McCarthy, Scott Bowen

Something is in the woods.

While Carson Campbell, a field researcher is out in the Cascadia National Park camping with his fiancé, Arden Forsythe, on a wild goose to capture evidence of an elusive creature, he has an inexplicable encounter not even he cannot explain. There are so many questions running through his mind at what he saw on his FLIR camera. The unbelievable image made his blood run cold.

From all his time in the field, he had always dismissed the myths and legends of these elusive creatures reported by hundreds of people over the years. He figured most of the reports were misidentified animals. It happens. He’s a scientist not a conspiracy theorist unlike Arden who believes in these mythical beasts. Facts and solid proof are the tools of his trade, not conjecture.

But, how can he explain the images he captured on video? If the footage became public, he would be ostracized from his field and his reputation tarnished not to mention he’d become a laughing stock among his colleagues. He decides to keep the evidence to himself until he receives the news of his fiancé. Then he has no choice other than to solve the mystery once and for all.

This is a tale of romance, intrigue, mystery and am elusive creature that may or may not exist. Inspired by real events!
