The True Alpha by Colleen Pinkney
This is a romance novel about a shape shifter, a pure blood. Dark skinned. His mom had died during labor and his dad, knowing what the child was, tried to drown the child.

While he was attempting to drown the child, a couple were on a picnic by the bay, and the woman (light-skinned American) went into the water to have her bath.

The man who was about to drown the child, panicked and fled, as he did not want anyone to see him doing what he was doing. He waited in the nearby woods until the couple would leave so he could finish what he started.
The woman saw the child and decided to take him to her husband. The father of the child was disappointed. Hence, he followed the couple home to try to kill the child, but had a change of heart hearing the woman say that she had needed a child her whole life, following an accident that rendered her womb useless to carry children.
The real father of the child decided to apply to the couple's house as a gardener, to keep in touch with the child and help him master his gifts.

At age seventeen, the child comes face to face with his true nature and is ashamed at first, and later scared that he would hurt his family. Through all this, he meets a girl, of the same age, who he falls in love with at first site.
Her boyfriend at the time is a shape shifter and a beta. He wants to become an alpha. He uses his girlfriend to trap the Alpha, but things do not go as planned, as she has now fallen in love with the shape shifter.

Events begin to unfold from there and a lot of things are discovered. The alpha and beta are brothers, (here, you will bring back Stefan who got Jill pregnant. He had escaped the death he was going to face, and fathered another child with a woman.) The beta kills his real father and the alpha plans on getting revenge on who he does not know is his brother.

This is a standalone romance novel ending HEA and the book contains language, situations, or images appropriate for readers over 18 years of age only!
