Zayne is plagued by voices of violence. Every day, they break him more and more, demanding higher and higher tolls from him. The voices of the Swarm tell him to kill, to feed them with the blood of his victims. His quest for a new life brings him to the war-torn streets of Sorngard.

Thrust into power at too young an age, Isaiah struggles every day to keep his people alive, and to keep this war from toppling the mighty city-state of Sorngard into ruin. When word of the legendary Swarm reaches him, he sees the chance to end this combat in one feel swoop.
