Racoon by Linda Walker
Racoon is the second book of the Third Generation Lakota Series. It takes place at the time of the Lewis and Clark expedition through the western Native American territories. This was the first real contact the tribes had with the white eyes, as the Crow called them.
The Native Americans did not know what to expect from these strange looking men who invaded their territories. They had trouble communicating with them because neither knew the languages, neither verbal nor sign, the others spoke. They had to depend on some who had contact with the French to interpret for them. They soon learn that not all can be trusted to tell the truth to each side. There was good and evil among the white eyes just as there was among the tribes.
Racoon had always dreamed about finding a warrior wife just like his Aunt Snow Dove. He searched and searched but could not find one to measure up to her. So, he decides to go on a quest to find the love of his life. He had no idea when he left his village that his journey would take him across the Lakota territory and then north into the Blackfoot Confederation territory as he tracked the movements of this new breed of men.
Come on this journey with Racoon and reconnect with some old friends and meet some new ones.
In this series, learn what happened to those you fell in love within the previous series. Then learn how your new friends will handle the ever-changing life they once cherished so dearly.
As always, this book is a clean romance with an element of history sprinkled throughout.
