Historical costume designer, Remy St. Cyr, never sought any involvement with Hollywood. When her friend is verbally assaulted by a famous actor, she creates a blind item gossip website called "Acting Badly" so the truth can be told. Almost instantly, Remy is visited by Noel Fairchild, a prestigious talent agent/lawyer. She must cease and desist or suffer the legal consequences. That’s not enough to frighten or stop her.

While he might be her adversary and representative of the actor Remy has targeted, Noel also shows himself to be endearing, kind, and generous. Remy has to wonder if love and a life with Noel is imaginable for her. They are at odds but neither of them are willing to let the other go.
