Love at First Sight by Max Hudson
Alexander Bertram doesn’t want to be in Atlanta. He doesn’t want to be renovating a friend’s parents’ house. He wants to be working at a university, trying to get tenure and doing research. Unfortunately, he hasn’t had much luck finding a job. If he has to choose between hanging drywall and dealing with his father, he’ll take the drywall every time.

Garrett Pine is just tired. He works as an ICU nurse and a nursing instructor. It feels like his entire life has been in a holding pattern since his last nasty breakup. He’s estranged from his only family, his friends all work at the same hospital, and he needs a break from everything.

It’s the temptation of brunch that brings Alex to the nursing school with his friend Vivian one morning. It’s also luck that causes them to run into Garrett. Neither Alex nor Garrett are looking for a relationship, but there’s immediate chemistry, no denying it. When they run into each other again at a coffee shop near campus, this time without Vivian around, the choice is obvious.

Some things come easier than others. Alex has to decide just how far he’s willing to go to appease his family, while Garrett has to decide what family even looks like for him.
