Came Back For Your Love by Rikenya Hunter
Synopsis
Have you ever loved someone so much that they couldn’t do any wrong in your eyes? Raakel and Tahki did. Raakel was head over heels for her boyfriend, Kopono. She met Kopono, a junior, during her sophomore year of high school and instantly fell in love with his smooth, thuggish, yet loving ways. Things were going great for the two of them until Kopono graduated and Raakel became a senior in high school.
After Kopono graduated, things drastically changed. He didn’t want to get a job and only wanted to rip and run the streets by riding around in Raakel’s car all day. Yet and still, he had loving ways that made her stay. She loved him unconditionally, until a heart-breaking secret tore them apart.
Raakel leaned on her best friend Tahki to get her through the heartache and pain of their breakup, even though her best friend was battling and dealing with her own demons, like selling her body to help her abusive, drug addicted mother pay bills to keep a roof over their head. Through all the drama, Tahki meets Jacobus, her next-door neighbor and he becomes her knight in shining armor, saving her from her tormented and neglectful childhood, teenaged years, and mother.
Fast forward, thirteen years had passed and Raakel has randomly bumped into Kopono and sparks fly immediately. Kopono seems like a changed and successful man and they seem to hit it off but there’s just one problem, his disrespectful teenage daughter. Can Raakel stick it out with him? Is he too good to be true?
After all of this time, Tahki and Jacobus are still going strong but after having a baby and feeling down about her body and her relationship, she doesn’t know if Jacobus still loves her. He financially provides for her and is a great father to their son but he’s never home. He claims that when he’s not home, he’s either working to provide or he’s shooting the breeze with the guys. Is Jacobus faithful? Is Tahki just being paranoid and insecure?
Both of these ladies have more in common that just being best friends. Find out if these ladies truly have good men or if they’ve just refused to believe that the men they’ve loved for so long and for so much couldn’t do any wrong in their eyes.
