The Lady and the Commoner: Secrets and Second Chances: A Clean & Sweet Historical Regency Romance Novel by Hedley J. Huntt

Is attraction enough, and can they lay aside their pride, or will the past steal the future from them?

Young and in love, Jacob Ashworth had no idea he would not see  Lady Alexandra Rothschild, the only woman he could ever love,  for six years when she left Cornwall.

Alexandra, sixteen years old, begged her parents to let her marry Jacob. They refused. The daughter of a Baron would never marry a commoner.

Working hard at his business, Jacob soon became as wealthy as any lord. After moving to an estate near Alexandra, he did not think he would run into her. Though he still loved her, her bitter letter to him declared that she would never marry him.

Alexandra, forced to write a hateful letter to Jacob by her mother, knew he could never possibly love her again. Upon finding him at the Duke’s ball, she knew her love for him had not changed. Having grown bitter over the years, all she wanted was to escape her mother’s obsession that Alexandra marry the Earl of Emberley.

Now, when they meet after all this time, old feelings resurface!  The two deceived souls must now decide if they can put their own painful pasts behind them in order to capture the gift of true love.

But, can they escape the deadly fingers of a shadowy killer? Will their love be fulfilled? Or will they die, forever apart?

If you love the majestic Regency and Victorian era, this is the novel for you!
