A Fighting Chance

My name is Landry Davis and I’ve been through a lot the past two years. I met a guy. I thought I fell in love with him. And then I stayed with him through every fight, every insult, and every hit. I stayed through the bruises and the broken bones. And I hid everything so that he didn’t get in trouble.

But I was done with that now. I left. I barely made it out but now I’m free. Except for the deal I had to make to get out alive. Keep my mouth shut and I stayed protected. Open my mouth and hell would reign down on me.

So, I kept my mouth shut and moved on with life with a fake smile on my face and anxiety that I barely kept under control. And it was working for me for the most part. Until the night I let my best friend talk me into going out with her.

Until the night I met Jonah Knight.

Now my life is spiraling out of control again. My ex was determined to ruin every bit of happiness I got in life. My best friend had too many questions I couldn’t answer. I was suddenly surrounded in cage fighter friends that I had no idea what to do with. And a pair of crystal blue eyes seemed to be everywhere I went watching my every move.

But the closer I got to Jonah the closer Brandon came to losing his grip on reality. Now I had to figure out how to keep everyone in my life in the dark, learn to trust the new man in my life, and keep myself safe at the same time.

Too bad one of those things doesn’t turn out too well.
