The Ghost by Ezra Dawn
(Book Six of the Graveyard Shift series and a paranormal short story. While this book is part of a series it can be read as a standalone.)

Stefan Koryavin is a penguin shifter who works as Dimitri’s assistant in the Phantom Creek Mortuary. Stefan originally wanted to become a medical examiner that worked with the police, but becoming a fugitive threw a wrench in those plans. Studying under Dimitri to become a mortician is the closest he could get to his dream without tipping off the council. With Phantom Creek being so small and remote, the chances of the council finding him are slim to none…or so he thinks. When a bounty hunter shows up in Phantom Creek, Stefan realizes he’s tired of running and wants to stay. But without the ability to fight back running is the only option.

Tristan Via is a warlock and a seer who uses his ability to predict the future to help in his job as a bounty hunter. When a premonition from a picture gives him an idea of where to look for his current target, Tristan doesn’t hesitate to make the trip. But even in the small town of Phantom Creek, the search won’t be easy since the only clue he has to go on is the single image from his vision. Or so he thinks. Tristan is patient though and confident in his ability despite the fact that this vision was vague on details like day and time. It won’t be long before he catches the fugitive he’s after.

When Tristan and Stefan collide, Tristan couldn’t be happier. There’s just one problem…Stefan is still a fugitive. When the man who committed the crime finds out he’s being investigated he’ll stop at nothing to tie up loose ends. Can Tristan and Stefan turn the tables and end this fight before they lose their lives or will the enemy get to them first?
