Love has a strange way of presenting itself. The most random encounter can start a chain reaction, and before you know it you fall for the unlikeliest of people. Lawyer's assistant by day, punching bag by night. Twenty-year-old Mya Sanders has a dream to become a Defense Attorney, but she is living a nightmare she doesn’t want to escape from. Damien, the person she loves the most, abuses and beats her, and she believes he will change. She tries to hide the bruises given to her by her boyfriend of five years from her friends and boss. Meanwhile she is trying to figure out her life and who she is. One day her boyfriend beats her to the point she ends up in the hospital.

Twenty-three-year-old Pharaoh Rivera is making a name for himself as he tries to gain control of half of California with the help of his longtime friend Mitch. An encounter with a rival gang leads him to the hospital where he bumps into Mya. He notices the bruises instantly and he adds making her his girl to the list of things he has to do.
While trying to stay out of jail and take control over rival gang territory Pharaoh falls for Mya. He tries to keep her oblivious to what’s going on but when he goes to jail and Mya gets assigned his case, the truth comes out. Mya is in the middle of a dangerous fight that she doesn’t know about, and she realizes everything she ever thought was built on lies. Will Pharaoh make Mya see that she needs him?
