A heartbroken and guilt ridden Shelby Holland moves to Whispering Springs to be the new librarian in town. She’s not really here for work though- she is desperately hoping to find the daughter she once gave up for adoption.

Finding her daughter, Susie, turns out to be the easy part, but connecting with her is another story.

Brian Cappes, the local psychiatrist, uncovers the true reason Shelby is in Whispering Springs. He vows to help her reconnect with the daughter she has been desperately missing for the past ten years. During the process, he starts to struggle with his growing feelings for the broken woman.

Things are looking promising for Shelby as Susie's new parents, Mac and Mandy, welcome her into their lives with open arms. However, one rainy night everything falls apart when Shelby’s past catches up to her. Old demons resurface and threaten to take Susie away forever.

It’s a difficult journey, but with Brian by her side, maybe Shelby can finally begin to mend her broken heart.
