When a strange orphan boy appears at the royal palace, Prince Martin assumed that he would be gone by morning. When his parents take the boy, Henry, into their care, the young prince immediately senses that the newcomer is in no way an ordinary person. When the wicked queen of a neighboring kingdom sets her sights on Henry for reasons that Martin is certain are devious, he swears that he will protect his friend at any cost. However, it may be easier said than done, as Henry is suddenly taken away in the dead of night. Martin resigns himself to his friend’s fate, but when he comes across Henry years later, he realizes that he has come to love him in a very different way.
