A Different Kind of Love: Clean Historical Western Romance by Montana Ross

Caroline Hayes lives with her cousins, Amelia and Herbert, in forward-thinking rural Pennsylvania - far away from the deep south and the historical dark shadow of slavery.
Unfortunately, she is never far from someone reminding her that her skin tone or the way she looks is not what is desired of a wife in the local area.

After attending a local church gathering, where not one man asks her for a dance, she is left wondering whether she will ever have a family of her own.

That is until her cousins formulate a plan. Why not travel to California as a mail-order bride?

They have heard that folks out west don’t worry about a person’s appearance, just as long as you are kind and hardworking, you’ll fit in just right.

Can Caroline move west without the prejudice she is so used to?

Or, will there be bigots along the way who will cause her to question her very existence?
