He licks the tears off my face, then throws me in a cage.

I shudder at the wet heat of his alien tongue. I’m disgusted, but not because he’s licking me, but because I like it.

I wait in the darkness. When will Sturmir come for me? What will he do to me?

The door creaks open, but it’s not him.

It’s something else.

Sturmir grabs him by the hair and crushes his head against the wall. He’s strong. He’s brutal. He’s smiling at me.

He leans in close to me. “Do everything I tell you to, little human, and I’ll keep them away from you.”

I nod, and my body trembles. His finger runs along my cheek. My lips part.

“You like how I smell, don’t you, little human?”

I freeze. I can’t get words to come out.

I don’t need any words though. I just need to do everything and anything he tells me to.
