For Life by W.M. Fawkes, Sam Burns

Timothy Moore is dying. After being diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer, he’s dropped out of school and doesn’t see much point in hoping for more. The only thing keeping him going is his friend Robin’s faith in him. When Robin insists he put in a call to a curious podcast, Timothy makes a wish that’ll change his life.

A vampire with a heart of gold, Michael’s spent centuries practicing medicine. These days he can save far more people than he did in the triage tents of his youth. But when he meets Timothy at a club, he finds one hopeless case he can’t tolerate.

There’s barely any time to save Timothy’s life, and Timothy’s wish might get him more than he bargained for—life, death, and a vampire Daddy willing to do anything for him.

This short story was originally published in the charity collection, Heart2Heart: Volume 4. It had been reedited and expanded with an additional scene.
