In the middle of the Flinthills, Katherine Donnelly, a loans officer with Kansas Standard Bank, is trying desperately to save the Rising Sky Ranch.

Kenny Wells, who inherited the failing ranch, finds it difficult to put aside his pride and take Katherine's advice.

Putting their faith in God, the two work together in a battle to save the Rising Sky Ranch, and the man who once ignores Katherine in school begins to fall in love.

But Katherine's heart is still entangled with emotions from her life in Colby, and she pushes Kenny away, at least for now.
