Sophie Linden left her farm in New York for a chance to see this grand new country. As the last unmarried daughter of the Linden’s, she was in grave danger of ending up the spinster of Conlin County. After a brief correspondence with Sophie Linden, everything is set, and he’s to pick her up in St. Joseph for the trek west. The first he lays eyes on her, Peter is head over heels in love with Sophie.
