Melanie is a beautiful photographer. Everyone knows that she is madly in love with Jake and has been for years. Jake left town without a second thought to her and broke her heart. Still, she holds out hope that true love with prevail.

Tom has a secret to share. He is completely in love with his best friend, Melanie. Growing up together as neighbors and childhood friends he kept this a secret from everyone. He cannot keep it to himself any longer.

Christmas Eve in the Landings is a big deal. Everyone turns out to sing carols and watch the grand tree lighting along the edge of the water. This magical night is the perfect time for Tom to confess his love for Melanie among the twinkling lights and mistletoe.

There’s one problem. Jake makes an unexpected return and interrupts everything. Tom knows that it is now or never. If he loses Melanie to Jake again he will not be able to handle it. She has his heart and he needs to take this chance on love.

Melanie is thrown off by Jake and his new girlfriend. She is consumed with feelings of inadequacy and does not see who is right in front of her: Tom.
