The Fire Within Us by Greg N. Ford
BEING YOUNG, SINGLE, AND A FIREMAN/FARMER SHOULD BE EASY, RIGHT?

While a freshman at Georgia Tech, Tom Barton's parents die in a car accident and he inherits their farm in Rockbridge, Georgia. After graduating from Tech with a business degree, Tom becomes an Atlanta fireman which allows him time to also run his farm. Other than trying to outsmart a serial arsonist in Atlanta, Tom's life is somewhat normal but often lonely...even with his great group of friends. That is until he meets a young woman. Then physical attacks against him begin in Rockbridge. What was normal suddenly turns complicated. Not only is he now facing unknown assailants but he's also butting heads with a beautiful, strong-willed woman.

With the violence increasing with each attack, Tom and his police buddies must try to solve the Rockbridge cases before someone gets killed. Adding to his problems, he can't get this intriguing woman off his mind.

Can he help solve the Atlanta arson cases, the Rockbridge personal assaults, and his infatuation with this woman before one of them costs him his life?
