Three years ago, my mother married a man who had three sons of his own.

I ended up falling for the second son.

His name is Romero Torres, and he’s the one person, the only person, who I’ve ever truly loved.

Romero once told me that he loved me, too.

But there was no way that two people like us could fall for each other.
