Trail of Death: A Western Adventure by Scott Harris

Trail of Death is the last of the eleven Brock Clemons Westerns and the fastest paced and most exciting one of all.

The family is finally on the verge of making it to Montana, but the challenges continue. Brock has to make what he calls “the most difficult decision of his life,” while off in Abilene, Huck, Tom and company try to buy a herd of cattle and hire the cowboys they’ll need to move ‘em to Montana.

This is all complicated when Huck falls in love with a local young lady, and her father—a man who is an expert with a meat cleaver—doesn’t approve.

Tom wrestles with the aftermath of an ambush where a dozen men are killed—without having had time to pull a weapon—and is unsure if his acts were self-defense—or murder.

Though Montana is getting closer every day, both Brock and Huck wonder if they’ll make it, and if they do, if the price paid in blood will have made the trip too costly. But, before they can decide, they still have to get themselves—and the people they are responsible for—into Montana.
