Emma McCarthy, is a thirty year old failed actress who moves home to Plymouth, MA when she and her mother, Cindy, inherit a private detective agency. The agency comes with a part-time employee, Mickey, an 80 year old retired detective. They expect cheating spouses or workman’s comp cases, but quickly learn that the agency has a reputation for solving murders.
