Beneath Magenta Rain by T.L. Bainter
Summary
Oskar is an imperfect, or imp, as many are keen to call people like him. This label makes him subhuman in the eyes of his society. For the elite in this world, subhumans are just free labor, as is the case for his enslaver. Oskar currently works as one of many prostitutes at the grimy, disconcerting establishment with the aptronym Kiss and Tell. He and the woman he loves, Silaine, have been workers there for several years, and escape has never seemed like a possibility...

Then, one day, a new patron asks for Oskar by name, and the opportunity for freedom presents itself. If all goes well, Oskar may finally leave the underbelly of the city.

About the Book
In this award-winning cyberpunk short story by T. L.
