A young, black and married Ciara Taylor Scott is on the cusp of making history as the first black female mayor of Detroit when she becomes entangled in an unexpected love affair with two of her biggest supporters--her best friend, Valerie Brock, and her high school sweetheart, Rafael Delgado. Still trying to escape from under her father's shadow, Ciara learns that her father, the former mayor of Detroit, will be released from prison after 20 years. As the passions of her past haunt her and the fear of her future grows, Ciara has to determine which path to follow on the campaign trail toward the mayoral seat: the one led by her heart, the one led by her mind, or the one led by the euphoria between her legs.
