Of Sin and Sacrifice by Megan Weiss
Rayne's world is in splinters.

Following her attempt with Lucas to save her mother, now they also are stuck in Jane Irwin's evil hands. Rayne wakes up to find herself held captive by a relative she never knew existed. Meanwhile, Lucas has been trapped in his mother's cellar since the disastrous day in the cemetery chapel, forced to endure her attempts to "cleanse" him.

Determined to win back Rayne's trust and save them all, Lucas sets himself on a mission to escape his mother and get the hell out of the compound. Certain that somewhere on the other side his uncle and Quinn are planning a rescue of their own, he teams up with Rayne's mother after his first attempt goes utterly wrong.

Together, they find Rayne, but not before harm is inflicted on people they love. Back at the safe house Ted and Quinn have been staying in since following Rayne and Lucas to Utica, they have to race against time to figure out what Jane is planning before they are found again.

When Rayne and Lucas are forced to choose between saving their own lives and the lives of their loved ones, they are conscripted into a dark ritual that will have consequences beyond their wildest dreams, including Jane's.

Of Sin and Sacrifice is the thrilling conclusion to The Spoken Word, where sparks fly, tempers flare and an important lesson is to be learned: When you try to play God, are you truly acting for the forces of good, or embodying your own evil?
