Sarah Warner and Evan Simes are high school adversaries.

While she enjoys all the comforts of a loving home, lots of friends and a close relationship with God, he spends his time evading drunken assaults at the hands of his stepfather and getting bullies by jocks.

Where Sarah is kind-hearted, caring and sees the good in everything, Evan is hardened by dark secrets, the realities of his own life and carries an enormous chip on his shoulder.

So why is she so attracted to a young man who seems to have nothing going for him on the face of it? And why on Earth is he so reluctant to have anything to do with the shining light of Belton High?

Sarah will soon find out. As she slowly gains Evan’s trust and a connection is forged between them, it seems like there is an equally good heart lurking in this bad boy’s chest.
