Flushed with success from the Finch case, Marlowe Bond receives a panicked email from a man claiming a murderous doll has her sights set on him. Despite the stories of madness and pain attached to the doll’s alleged victims, Marlowe is keen to go full throttle on the case with no regard for his own safety. His boyfriend, on the other hand, wants to pump the brakes before the evil toy kills them all.

The last thing Trip Cahill wants is to get involved with the plot of a horror movie come to life. But he knows there’s no stopping Marlowe when he has his mind set on something. So Trip agrees to help with the case, figuring it’s his best chance at keeping his stubborn ghost hunter safe.

But all bets are off when Marlowe is attacked. Trip doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt, while Marlowe refuses to abandon their client in his hour of need. Even worse, they both know it may be too late for them to walk away now that a murderous entity has their scent.
