“Your majesty,” she presses ignoring my request to call me by my name. “You need to trust me if I am to see clearly. I...” She sucks in a breath as I press a kiss just below the curve of her chin. “I will not be able to see clearly if I don’t have all the information. I won’t tell anyone.” Her voice is frightened but I can feel the desire starting to cool in it and her heated pulse under my touch. Her cheeks are reddening, and I want nothing more than to taste her in more ways than one.

“Aribeth.” I taste her name on my tongue, it tastes brilliant! I take her hand in mine startling her with my touch. She still averts her eyes, but I can feel her pulse roaring underneath her skin. Bringing her hand to my lips I kiss her, causing her to lock eyes with me. I can’t help the smile that breaks across my face. She is more beautiful in her fear, and I want to tame her, to make her mine.
