What happens in Vegas does not stay there. I wonder if I can sue them for false advertising? Nah, there’s probably some small print absolving them when it involves a spur of the moment wedding. Darn it. The thing is, I’m not really upset, but I should be. I actually like my new husband. May even love Jesse McKay – at least I could have if he didn’t insist on ghosting me before we got home. If I ever find him, our first fight will be a doozy.

I’m now a married man. A description I never thought would be attached to me, yet it feels right. Unfortunately, I have to act like it was a mistake. A threat from my past knows how I feel about Mavis Dutton, err McKay, so I need to keep my distance until they’re neutralized. Dead, actually because I’m going to kill them. No one comes between me and what’s mine. Afterwards, I’ll need to buy the biggest flower arrangement and box of chocolates I can find and hope she’ll forgive me. For good measure, I’ll add a puppy. Who can resist that?
