Newly unemployed Kayley returns to her hometown, determined to rebuild her confidence for a better future. Oh, and to remain single until she can trust her instincts again. She’s convinced that won’t happen anytime soon.

Cynical and sensible; that’s the way forward for her. No more of her usual happy, caring, and open self.

Despite his decision to quit rescuing down-on-their-luck women, Nathan rents an apartment to Kayley, a jobless woman who seems lost and alone.

Almost immediately, Kayley lands the perfect job and wonders if the Christmas magic of Dickens is working for her as it has for her sister and their cousin. She begins to believe in herself again and in her prospects for a fulfilling future.
