Bear's Necessities by Parker Williams, Cate Ashwood, Tricia Kristufek
Is it possible to fall in love from nothing more than the exchange of emails and phone calls? Dr. David “Bear” Berickza believes it is. Despite the distance and their limited contact, Bear can only think about Travis Michaels, a fellow veterinarian in the small town of Timber Creek, North Carolina. Their weekly chats mean the world to him.
When Bear hears that Timber Creek is in the path of the monster Hurricane Lauris, Bear makes a promise: he will be there to help Travis and his daughter, the smart-mouthed Tina, to save the abandoned animals.
Dr. Travis Michaels is in trouble. The town is mostly abandoned, the people fleeing the arriving storm leaving behind all their important things. Pets included. Travis and Tina are doing their best to find the frightened dogs and cats and bring them to shelter, but they’re only two people against overwhelming odds.
When Dr. Bear says he’ll be there, Travis is doubtful. He’s sure it’s just him and Tina in a race against time. Then Dr. Bear shows up, and Travis has hope. Unfortunately, Lauris doesn’t care for people, pets, or property, and she’s willing to claim them all.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and when Lauris hits, Bear and Travis discover that despite their best efforts, it’s going to take more than that to save any lives. Especially their own.

*TRIGGER WARNING: This book deals with the deaths of animals. While it’s not graphic, the realities of storms like this aren’t downplayed.

Please note: This book is being rereleased and nearly 10k words have been added to the original.
