Jamie and Ben have been friends since childhood and have grown up in the idyllic tourist town of Leland, Michigan. After graduating high school, they take markedly different paths towards the future: Jamie heads off to college in Ohio and eventually pursues a career in writing, while Ben stays in Leland to help run his family’s business. After a number of years, a family emergency brings Jamie unexpectedly back to Leland and she and Ben reconnect. Over the next twenty-plus years, Jamie and Ben’s relationship grows, blooms…and then falters. Will they be able to get past the pain and find their way back to one another?
