Rock Lane by S.L. Lake
Becca Hamilton grew up under the pressures of being the daughter of a Senator, and then the acting Vice President. She always has Secret Service or her goons around. She rarely messes up or does anything that would disappoint her parents, until she sneaks out with her best friend, to see Liquid Lunaci at The Tunnel, DC’s music hotspot. David Lane is the drummer for Liquid Lunaci, and the son of Senate Majority Leader, Ted Lane. He has been a bit of a disappointment. Leading a life as a musician, smoking pot, and flunking out of many private schools, leading to his eventual disowning by his politician father. That night, at The Tunnel, an almost kiss happens between these two, who have known each other for years, but for the first time, David sees her in a new way. David goes on, hitting the music scene in a big way, with overnight success, and multi-platinum, award-winning, records. That is, until Kenny, his best friend, and the lead singer dies. Becca campaigns for her father, for the Presidency, on every major news channel. She is out there, doing interviews, and giving speeches. David shows up at her yoga studio, the day after the election, in hopes of taking her out. A widespread scandal appears on every news and entertainment program, as well as many sites online, showcasing a very passionate night together, taken with telephoto lenses through her back windows. Her master's degree program is starting in January, and he’s dropping his first solo single in a week, followed by constant touring and press. He invites her to come with him, and she has to choose between her dream or his, if his ex, Kailey allows it.
