This has got to be the most insane thing Vesta has ever done. In the middle of the night, in one of London’s streets, Vesta is in her pinkish, childish pajamas, asking a random, grumpy guy to give her his sperm. And she knows he probably thinks she is crazy. Vesta is a decent, intelligent doctor, so how could she humiliate herself that way? But what else can she do? Her life went upside down when she left Rome to settle in London; this is the last chance for her to fix her messed up life.
When Hunter meets Vesta, he gets shocked by her question and lashes out. But Vesta is just so desperate for his help. She believes he is the bravest man she has ever met after he saves her when she faces danger. The chemistry explodes between them, only to fizzle out when Hunter makes her beg for his help, igniting her anger, and they become bitter enemies.
They part as enemies, but fate has bigger plans for them, and they’ll continue to bump into one another. Everything in Vesta’s life changes once Hunter calls, begging her to meet him in New York and pretend she is his wife-to-be. Just for a week. In New York, she surprisingly gets the opportunity to see the hidden side of Hunter, and Hunter, on the other hand, starts letting all his guards down with her. They realize almost immediately how undeniably similar they are. But to fall in love, they must first be brave.
