Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas
TO be honest with you, I have always been a fan of Lisa Kleypas.
Devil in Winter is about Evie Jenner, a shy introvert girl who is searching for a desperate guy to marry her so as to save her fortune from going in the hands of her relatives. Our timid stammering heroine approaches the bashful, arrogant and insufferable aristocrat Lord St. Vincent for his hand in marriage who agrees to the deal as he is in dire need of money himself. They both agree to a marriage of convenience with Evie’s prerequisite that they will never be involved in each other’s life and it’s a sham marriage! As both the protagonists get to know each other, the plot unfolds filled with romance and skin tickling scenes which make you wish “Only if I was Evie”.
I loved the sexual entendres during the course of the book, Sebastian’s heart touching character full of concern, love, protection and possessiveness and the HOT bedroom scenes! Lastly, Evie’s coming out of the shell and helping Sebastian turn over a new leaf also made me smile and fall in love more with both the characters.
I would give it a 4.8 out of 5 (0.2 less for the plot becomes a little slow in the middle but again recaptures my mind in the charm of the story)
