Zar by Alana Khan,Elle Arden
So This Is An Emotional Read.
***WARNING DARK SUBJECTS***
I probably teared up through the first half of this book, and I really do appreciate the author not making light of the very serious issues that were throughout this book. She handled the r@pe, abduction, slavery, and even a hint of ptsd very well. Wish the book had been longer with even more in depth character growth, but for the length that it is, it is done so well, I really have no complaints. Both Zar and Anya are marvelous characters who make it through some pretty terrible hardships that anyone else would have shattered mentally from, but with having each other’s backs, they not only find the will to keep fighting, but they also find the courage to live and love, and that is a romance worth reading.
In conclusion, short but great read, with hard topics to swallow, but so worth it, especially sense the many delicate matters are handled with care.
***WARNING SPOILER AHEAD***
And may I just say that even though this book had a forced breeding thing going on, no one ended up with a pregnancy. And I am very happy about that, I hate surprise pregnancies in any of my romances, but especially in Alien Abductions where the women usually have no choice but to have the child. So yaaaay! 5 stars!
P.S. And I listened to the audiobook of this, and the narrator-Zachary Zaba 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 dude fucken owned this book and did a marvelous job as the voice of Zar! He’s half of the other reason I almost cried numerous times. Well done.
