But when the wide-eyed beauty comes slipping into his shop, his day starts to look infinitely more interesting. Despite their vastly different backgrounds, Abby and Brett can't seem to keep away from each other. And before they know it, the tattooed bad boy and the shy photographer are falling for each other. Hard. But when Abby is forced to confront the dangerous and illicit nature of the family business, will she stick around or watch Brett ride off into the dust? EXCERPT She felt privileged. She looked at them and tried to put as much appreciation and gratitude as she could into her earnest expression as she exclaimed over each piece. “I try to find something beautiful in everything, even sadness and darkness,” he explained. “But I don’t think many people understand that.” “I do,” Abby said, and he smiled warmly, reaching over and brushing her hair out of her face. “Yeah, I think you do,” he said, leaning in close, his eyes flickering from her eyes to her mouth as if trying to gauge her reaction. Abby’s heart was hammering and she hoped that she was looking appropriately eager, so she leaned in boldly to accept the kiss. His lips were surprisingly soft, the barest hint of stubble around his mouth and along his jaw only serving to entice and make her shiver at the mere thought of such a muscular and rugged man kissing her. He was gentle at first, but soon enough his tongue was pressing against her lips and pushing inside insistently. Abby found herself leaning in closer and closer until Brett’s hands were on her hips and he was pulling into his lap. She should have been mortified at how wanton and needy she seemed, straddling a man she had only just met after one kiss. But she gave no signs of wanting to stop, letting Brett’s hands run smoothly up and down her sides and clutch at her waist as he licked into her mouth. less

Abby Warner is happy, working on her photography and spending time with her lover, Brett, at his tattoo parlor. She is used to the parade of leather clad bikers parading in and out of the studio, Brett's unconventional family and friends welcoming her with open arms. She's even learnt to love the feel of a thrumming engine between her legs, almost as much as the nights spent with her rough and tough bad boy between the sheets. The local council isn’t so forgiving, and when a planned cleanup of the tourist strip is announced, Brett's beloved tattoo parlor is the first to be named. They're not just going to stand by and let their home be taken away from them. But when they decide to fight back, things start to get dangerous. Who do you turn to when the supposed good guys are the ones you should fear the most? EXCERPT Unfortunately, the next words out of her mouth were, “Your apartment isn’t exactly habitable right now.” Brett laughed, not offended in the least. “Yeah, but when they let us back in and I get it fixed up, would you?” Abby wanted to say that she’d think about it, but really she knew she didn’t have to. Every time she came home to her apartment it felt too far away from Brett and from the people that she had started to find a real camaraderie with. And even the last week or so, where she had been almost constantly by his side, it had felt completely natural and not at all like the massive and potentially ruinous step that it was supposed to be. So, in response she just smiled and tightened her arms around him. “Yes, I’d love to,” she said. “But if you ever push me out a window again I swear you’ll be getting more than a twisted ankle next time.” “Really?” Brett leered, rolling them to the side and pinning her wrists above her head as he leaned over her, grinning. Abby tried to pull her hands free but of course she couldn’t, so she just lay there struggling and panting until he pressed a surprisingly gentle kiss against her lips. “I am so glad you’re all right, baby. I was fucking terrified.” “I know,” Abby said. “So was I. But we’re here now and we're okay.” “I think I should still check you over for injuries,” Brett said, pulling her bath robe open and looking up and down her naked body. “Are we playing Doctor?” Abby giggled and he shrugged. “Why? Would you rather we play fireman? Want to hold my hose?” He was naked, already half-hard and growing as he winked at her. less

The city has changed and Abby Warner is sad to see her lover's family of bikers preparing to leave for new horizons. But when his family asks him to come with them, Brett decides he has to think about it. Abby doesn't want to push him into making a decision, even though the thought of losing her protective, bear of a man hurts more than she can stomach. And when the appearance of an ex-lover, a sultry, leather clad vixen is an added temptation for him, Abby almost feels like giving up. But she has been through too much to lose him now. She might not be a motorcycle riding badass, but she has done things that would frighten the leathers off of any man or woman and she's not about to give up her man without a fight. EXCERPT “It goes without saying that if you don’t want to go then we won’t go.” Abby looked up at him, frowning. “You would really stay here for me just because I wanted to stay?” She knew that she sounded really insecure and even a touch disbelieving, and she felt terrible about it, but Brett seemed to take it all in stride. “Of course I would,” he said. “You’re the one who pushed me to make a break on my own in the first place, remember? And besides,” he said with a smirk, leaning down to cup a firm hand around her ass. “Where else would I find a body this fine?” Abby gave him a playful shove and he went with it, stumbling backwards towards the front of the shop where he quickly flipped the closed sign on the door. “Is that a good idea?” Abby asked. “We don’t want to turn away customers, after all.” Brett scooped her up and swept her over a shoulder, fireman style, effortlessly carrying her upstairs to the apartment above. “It’s a better idea than letting anyone see what I’m about to do to you.” less
