Part of the Many Lives Universe. **unedited excerpt** Eve didn't want to live. The woman in her wanted to be free and never return to this plane where her physical body constricted her. On the psychic plane her dragon's violet flame flickered, and lightened further, a pale shadow of what the beast once had been. White desperation poured through her. She wanted to flee, to turn towards the nothingness that she sensed was within reach, but she couldn't. He was calling to her, pulling her back on the psychic plane. He was as lonely as her. Did he sense it too? Leaning forward, the man took her hand, and the shock of his touch reverberated through her. A pulse of energy jolted her. It yanked her right back into her body, into her soul. Her psychic senses sank back, melding into her cells, rushing through her blood stream, setting her nerves tingling. Silver energy flashed through her. It zoomed through her linking her pale lavender flame to the vivid amber of the man's psychic presence, before fading out. On the physical plane her heartbeat accelerated. She felt heavy, weighed down by her muscles, that trapped her within. She couldn't leave him. Not when she'd just found him. Cold rushed through her and pain wracked her body. She shivered, tried to moan only to find the sound trapped in her throat. The woman in her resented this man had called her back. Her senses insisted she stay. She had found him. She couldn't lose him. Warmth bled into her, from his fingers. All her awareness was concentrated on where he held her hand. The heat dripped through her, chasing away the crystals of cold that slid through her blood. On the psychic plane the violet flame of her dragon flickered to life, a pale lavender instead of the fiery violet she knew it to be. Heat from him radiated towards her, pulling her to him. He was her anchor. He was life itself. Don't let go. ** Out soon. Scroll up and one click now. Free in KU. less

It felt like he was flying. Fire and scales and wings of gold that reflected back the jagged sunlight. The green of the sea boiled around him. Wings tore through the air, over waves so high they surged toward him soaking him. He knew he wasn't fast enough, he was going to be caught. The wave poured over him, weighing him down. Rage screeched as he plummeted towards the ocean. The image faded as he hit the glass barrier and was flung back. Red hot pain smashed through his side. He hit the floor, the back of his head crashing against the hard ground. The slimy darkness surged through the shattered barrier. Black closed in on the edge of his vision. Just for a few seconds he'd been back in the space that called to him, where everything was bathed in light. A space he was sure didn't exist except in his imagination. It made the contrast far worse. It made it easier for him to leave everything behind. He wasn't afraid to die. Giving in to the pain, he let it crash over him, obliterating him. The sharp scent of jasmine crashed against his senses; white and green it cut through the swirling darkness, stinging him to consciousness. Fight The voice was so calm he did as he was told. He dropped into himself, into the whirlpool of flames that had been a part of him for so long he'd learned to ignore it. Channeling the energy he threw up a wall of flames, just in time. The psychic darkness rammed into it. The wall of flames burned, then closed in to form a surging barrier that moved and vibrated but stayed in place. It held back the ball of emotions that writhed inside. That fiery thing inside him was still alive. If he let go, it would sweep through him and consume him... He realized there was a reason he'd been holding back. If he let out what was inside of him, it would hurt everything around him. less

All her instincts screamed at her to get out of there. The man's shoes glistened through the foam. His black slacks clung to his powerful thighs, that tapered up to a narrow waist. A white shirt stretched across shoulders that were broad enough to block out the view of the sea behind. She had to tilt her head right back to look at his face. His upper lip was thin, his chin thrust out. High cheek bones that looked sharp enough to hurt. His gaze was piercing. The hint of unleashed violence coiled under his skin. She shivered. This man could be cruel and merciless. He could hurt her. Rinelle raised her hand and stabbed a finger at the man, "Your eyes look sad." Her breath hitched. She grabbed the little girl's hand and pulled her close. The man tilted his head, his forehead furrowed. "Leave little one," His voice was soft. "I don't want to hurt you." Very carefully, Freya placed her on the sand. "Go," She matched her tone to his keeping it at an even keel. She touched Rinelle's shoulder, giving her a gentle shove. The girl stood for a second longer, her gaze locked with the man. "Will you come back and play with me?" "Perhaps," He let the word hang in the air. The girl took off toward the building where the gathering was still in progress. The stranger's gaze swiveled back to her face. He stared unblinking. His features could have been carved out of ice. Freya shifted her weight from leg to leg, pressed her feet into the ground. "Don't you know that the Elysians and the dragons are united? We are no longer enemies." He eyes narrowed. "I am not an Elysian." A fluttery feeling rose in her belly. "You're not a dragon shifter, are you?" "I am both." He paused. "And neither." His hands jerked as he drew his elbows closer to his side. It was the first sign of disquiet in the man. She sensed a grief in him, which surprised her. It was at odds with the heartless facade he wore like a cloak. "What do you want?" The faint sound of the crowd cheering reached them. The man's eyes flicked in that direction. "Revenge for what they did to my mother." Terror jolted through her. "I don't know what happened to your mother. But, I won't let you harm my clan." She balled her fists and held it up in front of her chest, surprising even herself. His nostrils flared. It was the only outward sign of his surprise. "What are you offering in return?" "Me." This is Freya and Axel's story less

I finally get to write about a Bad Boy Rock Star! Unedited excerpt Neo ripped off his shirt. The audience roared. His face was just a few feet away from the writhing mass that made up the front line of the throng. The collective emotions of the audience reared up and slammed into him. He absorbed all of it, mixed it with his own brand of charisma and threw it back at them. He opened his eyes and saw her. A face of such pristine purity, that surely it could only belong to an angel or a being that wasn’t of this earth. Fair skin stretched over high cheekbones that rose to meet almond shaped eyes tapered slightly at the corners. Eyes that were dark and light at the same time, that reflected himself back at him, as if she was his mirror image. His heart stuttered. She blinked. The illusion shattered. She stared past him. Her lips turned down at the corners and color fled her cheeks. Turning her back to him, she pushed through the sea of people behind who parted around then swallowed her. "Hey" he jumped up. "Stop..." Nothing except a hoarse sound. His features tightened. He’d never felt more helpless in his life. He needed to reassure her, but how? Her gaze darted to his mouth then slid to his throat. Her gaze widened. Her throat moved as she swallowed. He knew she had spotted the scars of the collar that had dug into his skin. It marked him out as being a victim. Just like her. Some of the tension seemed to leave her body. Still those big amber eyes blinked at him warily. “Maybe you are not one of them, you are certainly not dressed like the Fae soldiers," Her gaze flicked to his vest, then back to his face, "but I don’t know who you are and why you are holding down.” She gnawed on her lower lip. He wanted to reach down and brush his thumb over that glistening flesh. How would her mouth taste? As if aware of the direction his thoughts had taken, she bared her teeth and hissed. Feral creature. And she'd called him a beast? He felt her pull her leg back, as if she intended to kick him, or worse, knee him again. He gripped his arms around her body, making sure to keep her arms captive, then angled his much heavier weight just so, to hold her legs down. Her eyes widened, the amber growing darker until her enter irises burned a curious shade of gold. He felt the tension gather inside her as she opened her mouth to scream again. And no way could he stand hearing that cry of fear again. He needed to reassure her. Going with instinct, he opened his mouth to tell her she could trust him, but all that emerged was a low purr—a deep, harmonious sound that seemed to be wrenched out of his very heart. He froze. The woman under him froze, then she blinked... **Releasing January 2019. Scroll up and 1-CLICK NOW. You don't want to miss it. less
