Matthew Cole has a reputation as a respectable, hardworking business owner and he’d like to keep it that way. In a town where the pace of change is slow, and the people are close, he brushes off questions about his love life, and gossip about when he’s going to settle down and find a wife. Matthew however, can’t bring himself to tell the town that it’s not a wife he wants. That all changes when aspiring artist, Skye, comes to town to see the Northern Lights. Arriving ahead of his friends to find a prime spot to view the display, an accident sees him staying on Matthew’s couch. Skye’s vibrant, liberal attitude sits poorly with the reserved and conservative Matthew until the two of them find their growing bond brings feelings that could ruin everything Matthew has worked hard for. As the time for the Northern Lights approaches, both men will have to face not only their growing feelings for one another but the consequences of choosing love. less

The quiet, small town of Higbee is the perfect place to see the upcoming Northern Lights. People from all over the country are flocking in droves to see the brilliant cosmic show as the town celebrates this remarkable event. Levi Lennox’s entire life has been spent in Higbee and it hasn’t been easy. Raised by difficult parents, his time in school was spent acting out, and earning the respect of his peers. As an adult, he’s tried to better himself, earning a living as the town’s electrician, due partly to the Xenaki’s help. Alexander Xenaki returns after ten years to speak at Higbee’s festival honoring the Aurora Borealis. Always a target of high school bullying he finds himself haunted by bitter memories. All he wants is to be as gone from Higbee as fast as possible. He’s stunned and embittered to find that Levi, his worst tormentor, regularly visits his parents. Worse yet, the crush he had on Levi hasn’t faded, but neither has his anger. Thrust together inadvertently, secrets are revealed and they must both face past mistakes, and perhaps build a better future for themselves. less

Still, Simon was content with his simple life, close to his family and the good people he wanted to protect. His sister could tease him about his humdrum ways, but Simon felt his life was pretty much where it should be. That is, until the skies chose his small town as the scene for the most extraordinary show of northern lights in the country for decades. It brought hundreds of tourists and parking infractions to Higbee. But most of all, it brought Elijah. Blazing beams of light, the deafening rumble of a gigantic machine… Elijah was sure—twenty years ago, he had witnessed the abduction of his parents by a UFO, and it had happened here, in this town lost in the middle of the pines. Others may call him crazy, that great bully of a policeman with the impossibly sexy eyes may intimidate him all he wanted, but Elijah wouldn’t let anything get in his way of solving the mystery of a lifetime. Subzero temperatures and sizzling, reluctant attraction brings these two together as Simon, the ever clear-headed and responsible officer, gets sucked into outlandish fantasies. Full of aliens and intergalactic adventures, Elijah’s world is more thrilling than anything he has ever known, but as he weasels his way into his heart, Simon fears he may lose him in his starry-eyed dreams of outer space forever. less

The quiet, small town of Higbee is set in the perfect place for the upcoming northern lights. People from different parts of the country are flocking in droves to see the brilliant cosmic show as the town celebrates this unusual event. Anthony Clarence has spent his entire life not only in Higbee but in the small bakery he runs from his home. A devastating attack in his teens has kept him terrified of the outside world, Anthony locks the world away, scared to step outside his front door. Only his cakes and cookies allow him to paint the vivid world that lives on in his mind. Jax is a movie star on the run. Attempting to distance himself from his long-time manager, and the stress of being a Hollywood star, he comes to Higbee to see the northern lights. Upon arriving, however, he finds out he’s too late to see the celestial event. Not knowing Jax’s true identity, Anthony pulls him into a scheme to win over the heart of a man he swears he’s destined to be with. Jax needs a safe place to hide his well-known face from the world and agrees to the idea of a fake relationship. In the process, Jax will rediscover a love for his art, and a passion for the man who reignited it in him. For Anthony, the security and comfort of Jax’s presence will force him to face the world of fantasy and dreams he’s lived in for so long, and wonder if perhaps reality could be so much better. less
