Complicated Matters by LF Gillis
Heath Taylor is a screw up Miami cop living in the past.
Farrah Mathews is a small-town basketball star with a free ride to college.
Morgansville, Florida is a small town full of clean streets and dirty secrets.
Since the death of his wife Taylor has been hanging on to his job by a thread.
When County Sheriff Daniels is arrested for drug trafficking Taylor is loaned out to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He is sent to Morgansville undercover as interim sheriff. His assignment: Protect the Mathews' family and figure out where Daniels is getting his drugs.
Taylor and Farrah's worlds collide when he informs her of her parents' deaths. She is forced to give up her scholarship, in order to keep her brothers out of foster care, and takes over the family farm.
After months of watching over the family he develops feelings for the young woman.
Murder, dark secrets, forbidden feelings, and an ancient water route that's as much a character as it is part of the scenery makes for some very "Complicated Matters."
